Travel Plans for Our Guests
Thank you for making the trip to celebrate with us. Here's how to get to Vitória and our venues as smoothly as possible, whether you're driving in or flying from farther away.
The nearest airport is Vitória - ES (VIX), it is a regional airport. If you are coming from another country, you will probably have to do connection in another major airport (Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, or others). Please, note U.S. Citizen must apply for a visa. Taxis and rideshare are available outside the main arrivals hall. Though there is public transportation available in the city, we suggest taking an Uber (It is cheap and convenient). You will be 10 to 20 minutes from your hotel/AirBnb.
If you are arriving by car, you are almost a local. You know how to get to Vitoria. Just type it on your Google Maps.
Your Trip
You are welcome to arrive and leave on any day, but we suggest arriving in Vitoria on Wednesday (June 16) and staying until Sunday (June 20). This is a suggested timeline for our week.
Fly into Vitoria (VIX) and transfer to your hotel. Settle in and meet at an informal welcome gathering.
Spend the day exploring a little bit of the city. Around lunch time, have your feet on the sand and join us at the beach club for the coldest beer you've ever had.
We will tour the Convento da Penha and have lunch. Free afternoon.
The big day! The morning is yours, relax! I said RELAX. Sleep in. REST UP! The party goes on for 6 HOURS! SIX HOURS! SEIS HORAS! MAMA MIA! We also have an after party for the survivors!!!

Our Destination
Vitoria is the capital of the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. It is located on a small island within a bay and was founded in 1551. The city has a population of 322,869 (2022), whilst the Greater Vitória metropolitan area has a population of more than 1,880,828. Vitoria is considered the 4th best city to live in Brazil by the UN (2026).
The Convent of Our Lady of Penha is the city monument. Founded in the 1600s on the top of the hill to bless Vila Velha and Vitoria.

Americans need to apply for a Brazilian VISA. It is a simple process and you can do it online through the Brazilian eVisa Portal. The visa costs $80.90. You also need a passport for international travel.
June is the beginning of winter in Brazil, but don't worry. It is like New Orleans in October/November. The weather will be mild, warm in the day and slightly chilly at night. Daytime temperatures range from a high of 79 to 82 F, dropping to comfortable nighttime lows of 64 to 66 F. It is generally warm, mild, and breezy with minimal rainfall. Bring a swimsuit!
Brazil's currency is the Real (BRL). The current rate is about 1 USD to 5 BRL. Credit/Debit cards are widely accepted. PIX is the most used payment method for casual purchases (e.g. street/beach vendors). It is like a Venmo/Cashapp/Zelle. If you are American, you can not pay with Pix directly (Pix requires a Brazilian Taxpayer number (CPF) that you do not have). Americans can download the WonderWallet app to pay with Pix.
Where to Stay
We highly recommend staying at the Quality Suites in Vila Velha, a city that is just across the bridge, less than 10 minutes from Vitoria. A room block has been reserved and we have secured a group rate. Please email agnoshannonassis@gmail.com to book your room. Staying here allows us to remain together and better coordinate event transportation for you. You can check out the property online but to book with the group rate do not use the website. Our top pick. An oceanfront hotel with beautiful beach views, delicious breakfast, and good rooms. This is one of the best neighborhoods in Vila Velha with walking distance restaurants and bars.
We will be providing transportation for guests staying at the Quality Suites Vila Velha Hotel to the wedding/reception and return transportation to the hotel.
Formal wedding attire. Women can wear floor length dresses or dresses that end below the knee. Men should wear a well-fitted suit paired with a shirt and tie.
US citizens need a Brazilian visa for travel. You can apply easily online using this link. Please keep your passport valid for at least 6 months past travel dates.

Complimentary transportation will be provided to guests staying at Quality Hotel to and from the wedding.
Your invitation will specify if a plus one is included. Even though we love your kids, we ask that you please leave your kids at home for the night.
We kindly ask that you put cell phones and cameras away during the entirety of the ceremony. We have hired professional photographers and videographers to take photos and videos of us and our guests. We will happily share those with you. We would like to have our pictures without you holding your phone.

Rio Trip Details

We're coordinating a group departure from Vitória (VIX) to Rio de Janeiro (GIG/SDU) on Monday, June 21, 2027. Flight time is 1 hr 10 min. This flight is included in the special group package. Instructions will be shared as soon as they're confirmed.
We'll be staying at the Othon Palace Copacabana Rio, in front of the beach in Copacabana with great bars and restaurants in the vicinity. Also close to the beautiful Ipanema Beach. Group rate and booking details coming soon.
We depart Rio de Janeiro (GIG/SDU) on Friday, June 25, 2027. We recommend booking your international flight home directly out of Rio to keep things simple.
